Her art
Captivated by metallic structures, Joelle Orhan is one of the rare painters able to put poetry in cranes and ocean liners, wharves and docks. She also paints colourful abstractions, blue horizons and faraway characters… Her influences are Nicolas de Stael, Gauguin, Picasso and Hopper.
Her life
Born in 1952, Joelle Orhan is from Brittany. She started studying the fine arts at the age of twelve. Later, she worked for architectural and design firms. She also built scale models and opened a framing shop in 1987. She dedicated herself to an organization promoting contemporary art; taught drawing and painting; and painted for the French Navy. She has been exhibiting both in France and abroad, Spain, America and China.
